Thank you for being part of my journey, and I look forward to sharing my most valuable content with you! From #Telco to #TechCo: The Talent Transformation Telcos Can't Afford to Miss! In the race 🏁 to evolve from traditional connectivity providers ☎️ to 👩💻tech-driven innovators, telcos face a critical challenge: closing the talent gap. McKinsey & Company's latest insights reveal that talent is the linchpin for this transformation, with over 80% of telco leaders citing it as essential for value creation. Yet, telcos lag 📉 behind tech companies in key skill areas like product management & digital analytics, with only 11% of telco employees possessing product management skills compared to 20% in tech companies To bridge 🌉 this gap, telcos must act across 4 dimensions: talent management, culture, operating model, & leadership. Notably, telcos' employee value proposition scores are 8% lower than those of tech companies, particularly in culture and values! Key Data Points - Talent & Skills: 82% of telco C-suite executives cite talent & skills as critical for value creation, far more than any other factor - Skills Gap: Telcos lag behind consumer tech companies in crucial skill areas, with a 9% point deficit in digital and analytics roles - Automation & AI: Consumer tech companies increased job postings requiring automation skills by 56% annually between 2018 and 2022, while telcos grew such postings by just 15% - Generative AI: Research found that generative AI could boost the productivity of the telco workforce by 35% to 70%
